Yes, the glorious day on which the 30 or so people who care about these things obsessively follow the TSN Trade
The big news of the day so far is that the Blue Jackets have traded Pazzy Leclaire to Ottawa (it's a match made in lamewad heaven!) and thus done what everyone has been waiting for them to do all along: chuck all their eggs in the Steve Mason basket, lay back, and enjoy the sweet sweet ride. My thoughts on Steve Mason have been made clear elsewhere, so I'll spare you the puckgasm and just post this masterpiece of MS Paint that the roguish Nodnarb made for me.
Also, the Ducks are apparently clenching their sphincter and refusing to give up Chris Pronger, rendering my thoughtful and articulately-phrased suggestion for Peter Chiarelli a moot point. As I understand it, Anaheim has to let either Pronger or Scott Niedermeyer go for cap reasons... so, like, are we going to sign Niedermeyer? Or, alternatively, can we woo Tomas Kaberle from Toronto? MY GOD, ARE WE GOING TO DO ANYTHING REFLECTIVE OF THE FACT THAT WE LOST 7 OF 13 GAMES IN FEBRUARY, OR ARE WE JUST GOING TO SIT AROUND WITH OUR THUMBS UP OUR ASSES?
Ahh, that's better. Feels like it's 2005 all over again.
