Breakfast With the Hysterics

*The Red Sox locked up MVP Dustin Pedroia to a six-year, $40.5 million contract yesterday, a contract that looks even more fantastic when you read the type of numbers being thrown out for this year's potential free agents. Getting a guy who has won a Rookie of the Year, a World Series ring and an MVP in his first two seasons for less than $7m per year is an absolute steal, especially when you realize that Steinbrenner The Younger offered a 300lb pitcher with a 7.92 postseason ERA nearly 24 mil per year. Well played Theo, especially if you can lock up Youk and Paps to similar contracts. Let everyone else overspend on Teixeira, Burnett, Lowe and Sabathia, the Red Sox offseason would be best spent taking care of players in-house.

*Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Derrick Rose. Those are literally the only three point guards in the league I'd rather have than Rajon Rondo right now, especially after last night's reedonculous performance. Rondo (guy needs a nickname by the way) didn't just happen to post the first triple-double of his career, he obliterated the stat sheet with 16 points, 17 assists, 13 rebounds and three steals. My favorite part of this Celtics season (and last year's playoffs to a lesser extent) has been watching Rondo grow by leaps and bounds from "that defensive-minded PG with athleticism" to "the guy who gives the C's whatever they need that night, be it assists, scoring, defense, or rebounds." Rondo's basketball IQ has nearly caught up with his athleticism, and the Celtics couldn't be luckier. Ray Allen also posted a season-high 31 in last night's obliteration of the Pacers (one of only two teams to beat the C's all year btw), and KG put up a nifty 26-14 mark. Probably the most encouraging game of the season for Celtics fans. The winning streak is now at 10.

*In more "SEC Fans are Batshit Crazy" news, Tommy Tuberville "resigned" at Auburn yesterday after going 85-40 in ten years at the school and winning five straight Iron Bowls. Meanwhile, Tennessee fans were salivating over Layla Kiffin, the wife of new coach Lane Kiffin. I mean, I get that the woman is good looking, but having spent a weekend in Tennessee, I saw fifteen women just walking around who were hotter, and had less obvoius plastic surgery than Mrs. Kiffin. I mean I love blondes and all, but she has that "bad nose job and past-its-usefulness eating disorder" look to her, doesn't she? Still, I'll let the fine readers of MH be the judge:

We've got hockey and wrestling coming up later today, and tomorrow, a special feature by myself and HZMLS that will make the Manny Ramirez Roast look like an episode of Veggie Tales.

I'm pretty sure dressing your children in Raiders gear can get you arrested for child abuse in most counties.

As a Kentucky basketball fan, I absolutely love Rajon Rondo. He set the UK single-season steals record at UK as a true freshman. Oops, sorry all you Mass politically-correctophiles (if any of you are - which I suspect not). I meant, as a first year.

Kid has serious game.

As for college football - I get the Fullmer ouster, this has been festering for a couple of years now, but Tuberville's team had one bad season, with a new offensive coordinator and system mind you, and he is gone. For crying out loud he beat UF in Florida last year. His crime? He isn't Nick Saban.

Yeah, I'd definitely throw her out of bed.

FMRA: and what is this walking around with bare feet on pavement, clearly not at your house? Hello!

I thought the droop neck was out in the 80's but I could be wrong.
Cattiness now over...

For everyone that says this is a Red Sox/Patriots town, I'd just like to point out that our two "other" teams are a combined 34-6 right now. (sans a few overtime losses).

So yeah...woot and stuff.
