Breakfast with the Hysterics

The Cubs you are such lovable LOSERS, how is the quest for the World Series holding up for you? I can already see the post mocking Zach Martin, oh how glorious it will be. Another big loser, and do I mean large, was CC Sabathia. He couldn't get out of the 5th inning and the Brewers are on life support now losing their second straight to the Phils. But the biggest loser last night has nothing to do with sports, it was my buddy and fwiend Sarah Palin.

It's no secret that all most of the editors at Mass Hysteria are bleeding heart liberals. We hug trees, believe in global warming, support our gay friends, and believe in third trimester abortions. Well everyone except our editor on commies and pinkos, Joseph McCarthy, but his editing privileges have been revoked until further notice. Our goal it to make this an entertaining blog free from politics and liberal smegma, but after last nights debate I couldn't resist. I went into this debate expecting nothing from Palin, and that was pretty close to what I got. Her down-to-earth, minivan mom smile and attitude was irritating to watch, and her answers were good but usually missed the point. The debate was formatted in the following fashion:

Moderator: Governor Palin, do you support such and such a topic?
Palin: You're darn right I do/don't!!!! (winks at camera) Palin then proceeds to go off on a tangent completely unrelated to question. (Split screen shows Biden writing furiously)
Biden (After looking completely puzzled and bewildered by Palin): Answers Palin's completely scripted answer, actually answers the question. Challenges Palin/McCain
Palin: MAVERICK MAVERICK MAVERICK MAVERICK.

This format encompassed the entire debate. Each candidate had their high and low points, and I can be the first to admit Palin didn't completely bomb. Palin was given a script to answer from, which was pretty clear since she dodged most of the questions with answers completely unrelated to the topic. America just think of this when you vote. McCain is an old man with a series of health concerns, do you REALLY want this "Alaskan soccer Super Mom" with ZERO foreign policy experience dealing with hostile countries?

Big day on Mass Hysteria so come back and stay tuned....

/I swear I don't hate America.

Ugh. Don't want McCain/Palin. Don't want Obama either. At we can be fairly sure that neither McCain nor Obama will make it through all 4 years. I guess it's Biden by default.

* At least. At least we can be...

Way to go Rocco.

I think you missed the point on Palin's answers. All 4 of the major candidates, and pretty much everyone except Chris Dodd during the primary season, do not answer the questions. Campaigns have become a series of talking points, with each politician reverting back to the talking points no matter the question. In fact, every person that follows politics have reverted back to talking points (See comments to KSK poflawa post yesterday). It is just as bad from one side as it is the other.

I am fed up with how candidates are "handled" instead of being themselves.

At least three "conservatives" at my work today told me that if it was Biden running against McCain they'd vote for Biden.

I felt like she was about to announce that there was bake sale going on in the lobby.

All I'll say is this: it's a very smart politician who can play off her gross ignorance as ingenuousness, and a very stupid politician who underestimates his opponent because she stumbled in a few interviews.

I would rather have someone with less experience a heart beat away than someone with no experience as president.

Palin is so friggin idealistic. And she wasn't exactly a "pit bull" when answering a question about dealing with the oil companies or Middle East leaders...overall she sounded nervous, using McCain's arguments against Obama in HER debate (i.e. meeting Musharraf w/o precondition)as if she didn't have a clue what she was getting into.

Side note, I like the L.A. Lakers Zoolander Jeep ride better:

I think it was pretty clear that Palin didn't have much to offer, as if trying to make a sale before she was fully trained on the product. That said, Biden didn't really "go for the kill" did he? And that makes me suspicious. Also, does he have any real teeth, or is he going for the George Washington look?

The sad fact is this is what we can expect as long as their is a two party system.

Just make sure I'm picked to go 4-1.
