Breakfast with the Hysterics

What happened last night in the Wild Wild World of Sports

  • Marvin Williams was handed a one game suspension for choke slamming Rajon Rondo during the first round of the playoffs. Williams insists that Rondo is still his bro.
  • Josh Beckett dominated the Detroit Pussycats, walking none, and picking up his 1000th strikeout. If he could face Curtis Granderson (4 strikeouts in four at bats) more often that number would be a lot higher. Sox win 5-1.
  • Lebron James continues to disappear in the playoffs, shooting 6 for 24. The Celtics contained King James, as chants of "overrated" echoed through the Fleet BankNorth Garden. Sportscenter continues to insist that this is just a fluke and we should expect Lebron to score 50 on Saturday.
  • FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! Felix Hernandez gets plunky with the Rangers, and Kason Gabbard throws a pitch high on Richie Sexson who responds by throwing his helmet at Gabbard and tackling him. Sexson swung and missed numerous times. Having a 6'9 man charge at you with murder in his eyes must be terrifying.

Josh Beckett is so much more badass than Lebron James can ever or will ever be.

OK that might not actually be true but I think my point remains valid.
